Aimed at improving connectivity across East Anglia and central, southern, and western England, the project was delivered in phases—phase two focusing on the critical section between Bicester and Bedford, representing a major milestone in the UK’s rail infrastructure network.

The East West Rail Alliance Project delivered a substantial volume of infrastructure milestones:

  • Earthworks totalling 1 million cubic meters.
  • Installation of 100 km of new track and drainage.
  • Construction of 2 new stations.
  • Extension of 3 platforms.
  • Construction of 15 new bridges.
  • Refurbishment of 23 bridges.
  • Demolition of 4 bridges.
  • Installation of 130 km of new fencing.
